Lock 33 when in use

"It's disrespectful to the people who put their sweat equity into this, not to preserve it.... This will stand long after we are gone. This was built to stay....."

Chamber Announces Photo Contest Winners

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Winners of the 'Winter Wonderland Photo Contest'! The contest reached out to all local residents in Montgomery County and the pictures needed to show a snowy or wintery scene within county borders.

"This is our first year for this event and we had a tremendous response," says Erika Squillace, Tourism Director. "Choosing the winner was a very tough decision, but the beauty about it is that we are able to use the photos we received in any future publications. This was a great way to get the community involved and help showcase the Montgomery County's assets at the same time."

The winners of the first Chamber Photo Contest are:

First Prize of a $150 courtesy of NBT Bank went to  Marie Gavry of Amsterdam for her photo of an Amish Horse and Buggy.

Second Prize of a $100 gift certificate from Art & Soul Inc. went to Terry Potozny of Fort Plain for his photo of the St. Johnsville Marina in early morning.

Third Prize of a one year membership to AAA went to Rebecca Dopp of Amsterdam for her photo of the Auriesville Shrine.

The photos will soon be displayed at The Chamber of Commerce offices at 12 South Bridge St. in Fonda.
